  • On my way to see tonight’s performance of "i google myself", by Jason Schafer… produced by my friend Mark Pickell’s Capital T Theatre. #
  • I’m trying to go to the doctor to look at my shoulder ‘cuz I’m told it’s the thing to do. I’ve never been one to seek medical help though. #
  • It’s proving more difficult than I care to deal with. If I’m able to see someone tomorrow, I’ll go. Otherwise, I’ll handle it myself. #
  • @codehooligans: yep, snowboarding related and wii-bowling exacerbated. #

Statesman.com updates their wireless offering

The Austin American-Statesman has partnered with Quattro Wireless and updated their mobile web portal. You can view the new mobile site by visiting http://statesman.com in your mobile browser, or directly by visiting http://statesman.qwapi.com. I’d never seen the qwapi.com domain before, but a little Google search shows that the service is quite popular with content portals. The NBA, CoverGirl, Boston.com, and Playboy Mobile all use the service to deliver mobile content.

Interestingly, visiting the root domain qwapi.com goes to a GoDaddy domain parking page.

Salt Lake City: Snowboarding!

Jade, Bryan, and I took a snowboarding trip to Salt Lake City, Utah January 24-29th. Neither of them had ever even seen real snow and none of us had ever been skiing, snowboard, or otherwise.

We drove from SLC to Eden and stayed in a vacation condo at Wolf Creek Resort, which we found through Valley Lodging. I thought it was a pretty good deal for a group of three and it was absolutely beautiful in any direction.

Our 3-day rentals and first-time lessons were purchased at Powder Mountain, though we really ended up splitting our time between there and Wolf Mountain: one of the country’s largest at 5,000 acres and Utah’s smallest at around 85 acres. Honestly though, Wolf Mountain was perfect for our needs. Only on the third day was I confident enough to take on the majority of Powder Mountain’s green trails. Oh, and we were able to use our $23 half-day lift ticket to ski into the night at Wolf.

I made good on my promises not to break anything though I did bust my shoulder up a bit and even went to the doctor for it.

  • icing my shoulder at the condo. my last night run I took a very long trail and only fell once near the end. That fall was very, very hard. #

  • Today was awesome. Much falling and many bruises later, I’ve got the basics of snowboarding down. Tomorrow we’ll hit some harder slopes. #
  • Using iPhoto for the first time because Jade’s Canon Powershot won’t connect otherwise. I hate that, like iTunes, it makes me import. #
  • I’m going to have to challenge the instructor to a double-diamond, back-country race to win back her affection - http://tinyurl.com/2ac4k3 #
